ABOUT THE ARTIST
A portrait is a conversation. It’s a belief that a piece of art can capture more than a likeness—it can reveal a person’s essential warmth.
This is the driving force behind my work. My mission is to find and capture the unique beauty I see in each person. I look beyond the surface for the geography of a smile, the subtle asymmetry of the eyes, the topography of an expression. Each piece is a dialogue between artist and subject, a shared effort to create a timeless portrait that feels profoundly alive.
My artistic journey began in childhood. Surrounded by a loving family, I learned that peace isn't a luxury; it's essential. As the family mediator, I was constantly seeking harmony and calm, learning to see the subtle dynamics between people. That pursuit didn't just shape my personality. It became the foundation of my work.
As a teenager, I realized I saw beauty where others didn't. I was fascinated by the compelling, unconventional qualities that make each person unique. The very things that often go overlooked. It evolved through a love for the human figure, the visual language of manga, and an intense, committed relationship with charcoal that began in 2020. That period of focus transformed my perspective, leading me to embrace the privilege of the portrait process. A process I now explore across various mediums.
Today, my work is honored to be held in private collections across Europe and America, with each piece bringing an intimate, soulful quality to its surroundings.
Education
My formal artistic education began with New Masters Academy, where I built my foundational skills. From there, I've been fortunate to learn directly from some incredible artists who've shaped my approach.
I've had the privilege of mentoring relationships with Oliver Sin for charcoal portraiture, and Pablo Ruben and Thomas Schaller for watercolor techniques. These one-on-one experiences taught me not just technique, but how to see and think like a master artist.
My skills have been further refined through intensive workshops and courses with renowned artists including Casey Baugh, Elias Flores, and Robert Kelley for charcoal and pastel work. For watercolor, I've studied with masters like Juan Satorio, Eudes Correia, Francisco Castro, Patricia Guzmán, Alvaro Castagnet, and several other exceptional artists.
Each of these experiences has contributed something unique to my artistic voice, from technical precision to creative vision. I believe in continuous learning, and these relationships with master artists continue to inspire and challenge my work.
